Dan’s Home Office
We were excited to build out a home office. Given the rise in people working from home there is a growing emphasis on workspace inside the home that is healthy, built to last, and specific to a variety of professions. Constructed from UV finished birch plywood, this project was intended to have a simple and clean aesthetic. Neutral wood tones, integrated pulls, and clean lines were the methods we used to achieve that look. The bottom drawers use simple integrated aluminum bar stock for file storage, while the upper drawers have removable dividers for other office supply needs. The upper cases have an open lower section to display the clients books, as well as doors to conceal other objects. The countertop is made of solid 1.125 thick hard maple, was finished with Osmo PolyOx hard wax, and is just under 12’ long. Fitting it into a room of the same dimension was one of the main challenges of this install. The channel routed around the window allows the counter to sit flush against the wall while also providing cable access for the computer monitors. Space was left behind the lower drawers to mount the clients router and other devices to keep them concealed but close at hand.
