Front Entryway

The goal of this project was to create a front entryway to this historic home that was more in tune with its character. The client sourced a glass entryway door, and requested we make a jamb and sidelights. We built all of the components from pine to match the door, but made the threshold from white oak because of its rot resistant properties. Everything was stained to suit, but weathering on the exterior of the door gave certain portions darker tones. We removed the former entryway and installed the jamb, glass, spring bronze, and other hardware on site. We also patched the concrete sill under the door to finish things off. It’s amazing to see how much warmer the front of the home is now.
